A.K.A. Isometric Crunch

Chris morena here with CD and personal training and Downingtown Pennsylvania. I'm going to demonstrate for you in an isometric abdominal crunch. The objective of this is just to create tension in your core midsection by pressing against your knees with your hands without actually moving your abdomen or your spine. Perform the crunch for five seconds at a time. Begin with your arms down shoulders down. Arms extended knees come up into the lifted position. You're going to start lift your head start pushing and pulling with your knees in your hands tightening your abdominals relax repeat the ideal position for this is to maintain the neutral curve of your back and not flatten out as you bring your knees in towards your chest simultaneously building a lot of tension in your abdominals. Make sure that you always keep your neck protected. Press your tongue to the roof of your mouth that often times the easies some of the stress on the neck as you're doing this. You don't want to take a lot of rest in between repetitions either and do about 10 per set.
